After years of speculation, The Goonies 2 is finally moving forward, and fans of the 1985 cult classic have reason to celebrate.
The original cast, including Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, Corey Feldman, Jeff Cohen, Kerri Green, Ke Huy Quan, and Martha Plimpton, is set to return for this long-awaited sequel. Insiders have revealed that producers are eager to recapture the magic of the original film while also appealing to a new generation of fans, especially with the youth adventure genre booming.
Although some beloved cast members, such as John Matuszak and Anne Ramsey, have passed away, the spirit of the original will live on in this follow-up. The Goonies 2 is expected to begin filming NEXT YEAR, with a tentative release date in 2026 or 2027.
