Justice League (2017)

A Superhero Team-Up That Falls Short of Its Potential
Directed by Zack Snyder (with post-production changes by Joss Whedon), Justice League brings together DC’s most iconic heroes—Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and Superman (Henry Cavill)—to face the cosmic threat of Steppenwolf. With Earth’s survival at stake, the team must unite despite their differences to stop the invasion.
While the film delivers entertaining action sequences and a charismatic ensemble cast, it suffers from inconsistent tone and uneven CGI, particularly in the portrayal of Steppenwolf. The movie was heavily altered due to behind-the-scenes changes, leading to a mix of Snyder’s darker vision and Whedon’s lighter, humor-driven approach. Despite these flaws, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, and Ezra Miller shine in their roles, bringing energy and charm to the team dynamic.
Although Justice League (2017) offers fun superhero moments, it lacks the depth and cohesion expected from DC’s ultimate team-up. Fans seeking a more complete version of Snyder’s vision found it in Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021), which provides a richer and more immersive experience.
