Survivor (2015)

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
Run for cover in 🎬 Survivor (2015), where Kate Abbott, a sharp security officer, dodges a deadly conspiracy. Milla Jovovich’s Kate is a steely standout—her relentless drive powers this action-thriller. Directed by James McTeigue, the 96-minute film follows Kate, a Foreign Service agent in London, framed for a bombing after uncovering a terrorist plot. Pierce Brosnan’s elusive assassin, The Watchmaker, hunts her through a gritty urban maze. The action—Kate sprinting through Trafalgar Square and rigging a gas explosion—delivers taut thrills, with London’s neon-lit streets popping visually. Dylan McDermott’s grizzled ally adds spark, but the script’s generic twists and clunky dialogue, criticized by Rotten Tomatoes’ 9% score, echo a lesser Bourne. Brosnan’s menace shines, though his limited screen time frustrates, per Variety. The 2014 sci-fi Survivor with Danielle C. Ryan, unrelated, is a weaker alternative. Kate’s fight, fueled by Jovovich’s grit, makes this a watchable, if forgettable, cat-and-mouse chase.
