ARQ (2016)

ARQ is a science fiction thriller directed by Tony Elliott. The film is set in a dystopian future where the world is in turmoil due to a global energy crisis. It blends elements of time travel and action with a tense, claustrophobic setting.
The story revolves around an engineer named Renton (Robbie Amell), who has developed a device that can generate free energy. The device is highly sought after, and Renton becomes embroiled in a conflict with a group of masked intruders who break into his lab to steal it. The situation takes a turn when Renton and his ex-girlfriend Hannah (Rachael Taylor) find themselves trapped in a time loop caused by the ARQ device. They are forced to relive the same violent events over and over again, trying to find a way to escape the loop and protect the revolutionary technology.

ARQ is known for its innovative take on the time loop concept, combining suspenseful action with a unique narrative structure. The film explores themes of survival, trust, and the consequences of advanced technology, all within the confines of a single location. Its tight pacing and high-stakes drama create an engaging and intense viewing experience.
