Devil (2010)

“Devil” (2010) is a supernatural horror film directed by John Erick Dowdle and produced by M. Night Shyamalan, who also wrote the story. The film is the first installment in “The Night Chronicles” trilogy, a series of films produced by Shyamalan.
The plot centers around five strangers who become trapped in an elevator in a Philadelphia skyscraper. As tensions rise, they soon realize that one of them is not who they seem to be, and supernatural occurrences begin to terrorize them. The group includes a salesman (Geoffrey Arend), a young woman (Bojana Novakovic), a mechanic (Logan Marshall-Green), a security guard (Bokeem Woodbine), and an elderly woman (Jenny O’Hara).
Outside the elevator, Detective Bowden (Chris Messina) and security guards attempt to rescue them while discovering that something sinister is at play. Detective Bowden, who is dealing with his own personal demons, must piece together the clues to understand the true nature of the evil presence inside the elevator.
“Devil” is known for its suspenseful atmosphere, claustrophobic setting, and intriguing premise. The film explores themes of guilt, redemption, and the battle between good and evil, all within the confines of a high-rise building. The tension and mystery build up to a climactic revelation, characteristic of Shyamalan’s storytelling style.
