Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023)

“Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” (2023) is a superhero film directed by James Wan and serves as the sequel to Aquaman (2018). The movie continues the adventures of Arthur Curry, a.k.a. Aquaman (Jason Momoa), as he faces new challenges to protect both Atlantis and the surface world.
In this installment, Aquaman must join forces with unexpected allies to combat an even greater threat. The film delves into the mythology of Atlantis and explores the mysterious “Lost Kingdom,” a forgotten civilization that holds powerful secrets. Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) returns as the primary antagonist, now more dangerous than ever, with a vendetta against Aquaman. Armed with a deadly weapon fueled by ancient magic, Black Manta seeks to destroy everything Arthur holds dear.
Aquaman, now the king of Atlantis, struggles with the responsibilities of ruling while also dealing with external threats and internal tensions within the underwater kingdoms. To prevent global catastrophe, he must uncover the secrets of the Lost Kingdom and confront dark forces that could spell doom for both the ocean and the surface.
The film is packed with visually stunning underwater sequences, epic battles, and rich world-building that expands the Aquaman lore. James Wan brings his signature blend of action, fantasy, and humor, while the returning cast, including Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Orm, and Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, reprise their roles.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom delivers high-stakes adventure and deepens the character arcs introduced in the first film. With its mix of mythology, vibrant visuals, and blockbuster action, the movie is a significant chapter in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).
