Primal (2019)

Primal is an action-thriller film directed by Nick Powell and stars Nicolas Cage in a tense story of survival and chaos aboard a ship. The movie blends elements of animal terror with a high-stakes prisoner escape, making it a unique entry in the action genre.
Nicolas Cage plays Frank Walsh, a seasoned hunter and animal trapper who specializes in capturing exotic, dangerous animals for zoos. After capturing an extremely rare and lethal white jaguar in the Brazilian jungle, Frank transports his catch aboard a cargo ship bound for the U.S. Along with the jaguar, the ship is also carrying another dangerous “cargo”—a notorious political assassin named Richard Loffler (Kevin Durand), who is being extradited to the U.S. under heavy guard.
When Loffler escapes custody on the ship, he releases the jaguar and other deadly animals from their cages, creating absolute chaos on board. Now, Frank must team up with a group of mercenaries and the ship’s crew to stop the ruthless assassin while also surviving the unleashed wild animals that roam the ship.
Primal delivers a mix of action, suspense, and animal-related thrills, with Nicolas Cage’s larger-than-life persona driving the tension.

The film features intense sequences involving both human and animal threats, blending survival horror with action-packed confrontations. Though it received mixed reviews, fans of Cage and high-stakes action will appreciate its fast pace and wild premise.
