The Wave (2015)

The Wave (2015) is a Norwegian disaster film directed by Roar Uthaug. The story is set in the small village of Geiranger, a scenic fjord town surrounded by mountains. The film follows geologist Kristian Eikjord, who is about to move away with his family for a new job.
However, before they can leave, Kristian notices unusual seismic activity in the area, indicating that a massive rockslide is imminent. The slide would send a giant tsunami crashing into Geiranger, giving residents only ten minutes to escape.
As the wave barrels toward the town, Kristian and his family must race against time to survive. The film is based on real geological threats in Norway, and its stunning visual effects and tense, heart-pounding action make it a standout in the disaster genre.
The Wave was praised for its suspense, realistic portrayal of disaster scenarios, and emotional depth, showcasing both thrilling action sequences and the human element of survival.
