Killjoys (2011)

Killjoys (2011) is a Canadian science fiction television series created by Michelle Lovretta. The show aired on the Syfy network and ran for five seasons until 2019. The series is set in a distant, interplanetary system known as the Quad, where a team of bounty hunters, called “Killjoys,” navigate political intrigue, personal drama, and dangerous missions.
The story follows a trio of bounty hunters: Dutch (Hannah John-Kamen), the team’s leader and a highly skilled fighter with a mysterious past; John Jaqobis (Aaron Ashmore), a tech-savvy and compassionate team member; and D’avin Jaqobis (Luke Macfarlane), John’s brother and a former soldier with a troubled history.
Together, they work for the Reclamation Apprehension Coalition (RAC), an organization that enforces law and order by taking on warrants to capture criminals and complete dangerous tasks.
Killjoys blends space adventure, action, and a deep dive into the political conflicts and class struggles within the Quad system.

The show explores themes of loyalty, identity, and survival, while delivering fast-paced action and witty dialogue. The series was praised for its world-building, dynamic characters, and diverse representation.
