Outside the Wire (2021) is a sci-fi action film directed by Mikael Håfström, set in a near-future war-torn world. The film follows Lieutenant Thomas Harp (Damson Idris), a U.S. drone pilot, who is reprimanded for disobeying orders during a military mission.

As a result, Harp is sent to the frontline to work under Captain Leo (Anthony Mackie), an advanced android officer with enhanced abilities.

Leo’s mission is to stop a group of insurgents from acquiring nuclear weapons that could threaten global security. As Harp and Leo embark on their dangerous operation in Eastern Europe, Harp quickly realizes that Leo has his own secret agenda, and the line between ally and enemy begins to blur. Harp is forced to question his loyalties, as well as the ethics of war and artificial intelligence, as they navigate through hostile territory.
