Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991) is an action-adventure film directed by Kevin Reynolds, starring Kevin Costner as the legendary English folk hero Robin Hood. The film offers a fresh take on the classic tale of Robin Hood, a nobleman turned outlaw who fights against the corrupt Sheriff of Nottingham (Alan Rickman) to restore justice and help the oppressed.
The story begins with Robin of Locksley escaping from a Turkish prison during the Crusades and returning to England, only to find his father murdered and his lands seized by the tyrannical Sheriff.
With his loyal companion Azeem (Morgan Freeman), Robin takes refuge in Sherwood Forest, where he gathers a band of outlaws, including Little John and Will Scarlet.
