In this heartwarming sequel to the holiday classic Home Alone, Kevin McCallister (played by Macaulay Culkin) is once again left behind by his family during the Christmas season, but this time, he finds himself alone in New York City instead of his suburban home. After a mix-up at the airport, Kevin boards the wrong plane and ends up in the Big Apple while his family heads to Florida for their vacation.
With no one around to stop him, Kevin makes the most of his solo trip, checking into a luxurious hotel and enjoying the sights of New York City. However, his adventures take a turn when he unexpectedly runs into the bumbling burglars Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern), who had escaped from prison and are plotting to rob a toy store. Recognizing Kevin from their previous encounter, the criminals set their sights on him and plan to get their revenge.
Kevin, however, is prepared this time. Using his wit, resourcefulness, and a variety of clever traps, he sets out to foil Harry and Marv’s criminal scheme, turning the hotel and the city streets into an elaborate battleground. From a high-tech hotel room to an abandoned townhouse, Kevin uses everything at his disposal to outsmart the thieves in hilarious and inventive ways.
In addition to the antics, Kevin forms an unlikely friendship with a kind-hearted woman named Pigeon Lady (Brenda Fricker), who teaches him important lessons about kindness and forgiveness. As the battle between Kevin and the burglars reaches its peak, the young boy learns valuable lessons about family, courage, and the true meaning of Christmas.
