Don’t Breathe (2016) is a tense, nerve-wracking horror-thriller that turns the home-invasion genre on its head. Directed by Fede Álvarez, the film follows a group of young criminals who break into the home of a blind war veteran, only to find themselves trapped in a nightmarish game of survival when they realize that their victim is far more dangerous than they anticipated.

The story begins with Rocky (Jane Levy), Alex (Dylan Minnette), and Money (Daniel Zovatto), three petty criminals who rob homes in order to escape their troubled lives. They target the house of a blind man (Stephen Lang) living alone in an abandoned neighborhood, hoping to steal a large sum of money he received as compensation for a tragic loss. However, what starts as a typical heist quickly spirals into a deadly battle for survival when they discover that the blind man is not as helpless as he appears.

The blind man, who is a highly trained military veteran, is far more capable than anyone could have predicted. He possesses a heightened sense of hearing and an intimate knowledge of his home, turning the tables on the intruders. What was meant to be a quick and easy robbery turns into a desperate struggle for the trio to escape with their lives.

As the film progresses, the tension intensifies. The house itself becomes a labyrinth of threats, and the intruders realize that they are being hunted by the blind man, who is not only protective of his secrets but is also willing to do whatever it takes to keep them from escaping.
