“Blue Beetle” (2023) is a superhero film directed by Angel Manuel Soto and produced by Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios. The film is based on the DC Comics character of the same name and stars Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes / Blue Beetle, Susan Sarandon, Bruna Marquezine, Belissa Escobedo, Raoul Max Trujillo, and George Lopez.
The story centers on Jaime Reyes, a recent college graduate who returns to his hometown of El Paso, Texas, where he is trying to navigate his future while reconnecting with his family. Jaime’s life takes a dramatic turn when he stumbles upon a mysterious alien artifact called the Scarab, which attaches itself to his spine and transforms into a powerful, high-tech exosuit.
