Raya 2 – The Last Dragon War (2025)
In Raya 2 – The Last Dragon War, the peace that was achieved at the end of the first film in Raya and the Last Dragon (2021) is threatened once again, as a new, more sinister force emerges to disrupt the harmony that has been restored to the land of Kumandra. The dragons, once believed to be extinct, have returned, and with them comes an ancient power that could either save or destroy the world. The balance between humans and dragons is fragile, and a new war is on the horizon—one that could change the fate of Kumandra forever.
After the defeat of the Druun in the first film, the five tribes of Kumandra—Heart, Fang, Tail, Spine, and Talon—have begun to rebuild their communities and reconnect. But as tensions simmer beneath the surface, a more dangerous enemy arises, this time not in the form of the Druun, but a rogue dragon faction that seeks to reignite the flames of ancient conflict.
Raya (voiced by Kelly Marie Tran) and Sisu (voiced by Awkwafina) return as central figures, facing their greatest challenge yet. Despite the newfound unity between the tribes, old rivalries remain. A mysterious new villain, Ravon, a rogue dragon who was once a protector of Kumandra, has turned against the peacekeepers and seeks to awaken the remnants of dark magic that could unleash chaos. Ravon is determined to free an ancient dragon king, Valmar, whose power could lay waste to all of Kumandra if unleashed.
As the story unfolds, Raya must lead a new team of heroes, including Boun (voiced by Izaac Wang), Tong (voiced by Benedict Wong), and Little Noi (voiced by Thalia Tran), to stop Ravon and prevent Valmar from returning to power. Along their journey, they will face not only physical challenges and battles but also emotional struggles, as they must learn to overcome their deepest fears and prejudices.
As the conflict escalates, Raya’s relationship with Sisu deepens, and their bond becomes critical to the survival of the land. Sisu, now with a better understanding of her own powers, plays a pivotal role in unlocking the secrets of Kumandra’s ancient dragon lore. Together, they must find the ancient dragon scrolls, hidden deep within the jungles of the Heart tribe, that may hold the key to defeating Ravon and restoring peace.
The stakes are higher than ever as the tribes of Kumandra prepare for the Last Dragon War. The battle will not only be fought with magic and strength but with the will to unite disparate cultures and traditions that have spent generations in conflict. Raya’s leadership and her understanding of what true unity means will be put to the test as she faces impossible odds to save the world once again.
